The EI has organized CU-Boulder's energy research activities under three
themes:
Discovery - discovery and development of inexpensive and environmentally
acceptable energy alternatives and strategies;
Entrepreneurship - the means by which innovative research can be
commercialized rapidly for public benefit;
Transformation - systemic changes in the social, economic, legal,
and political forces and institutions that influence energy use.
